Counselling & Psychotherapy

I have an Advanced Diploma in Transactional Analysis, having completed a four year course. I am a psychotherapist in advanced training and will be a qualified psychotherapist once I complete a dissertation and exam.

I am also accredited with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, which means I have completed over 450 hours of practice and submitted a written assignment to demonstrate my competence as a counsellor.

I have worked for over 5 years as a volunteer counsellor at a local charity which has been nominated for a Queen's award. I have over 800 hours experience in both long and short term work. I have been in private practice for over 4 years.

I am also a qualified nurse and have over 20 years of experience in helping people with terminal illness and chronic neurological conditions such as motor neurone disease, multiple sclerosis and epilepsy.

I am an accredited member of the Bristish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and a student member of the UK Association of Transactional Analysis (UKATA), and adhere to the ethical codes of these organisations, which you can find by visiting their websites:

I also receive regular supervision to ensure that I am practicing safely and ethically.

Types of psychotherapy
There are a number of different types of psychotherapy. These are really just different ways in which the therapist might understand people and how we develop, think, feel and behave.

I am trained in a theory called Transactional Analysis. If you want to find out more about this type of psychotherapy please click here
