How I can help you
I can help you by providing a safe, confidential, understanding and non-judgmental environment in which you can talk about whatever you want, explore your experiences and your relationships. You can then identify whether there are things you would like to change and how to cope with things you cannot change. We will develop a therapeutic relationship through which we can explore the patterns that you have developed in your life and relationships.
"It is in relationship with others that we find ourselves. It is in relationship with others that we are able to be ourselves – good and bad – and to change. It is love – relationship – that brings us home." (Nicholls, 2015)
What's the difference between counselling and psychotherapy?
Counselling tends to be shorter term work to help you to deal with a current problem such as a relationship breakdown or bereavement.
Psychotherapy is usually longer term and explores repeated patterns often with a view to change.
You might not be sure whether you are looking for counselling or psychotherapy, we can discuss this at your first assessment if you want.
